Transit of Venus
On June 8, 2004 NEWSTAR organized a viewing party of the first transit of the planet Venus in over 100 years.  The viewing party was held at Menomonee Park in Oshkosh on the shore of Lake Winnebago.

The planet Venus is seen as a black dot on the lower right portion of the sun as the planet passes in front of the sun.

Club members enjoy the transit in the early morning.

Members take turns viewing through the many scopes.
